Teresa has a Bachelor of Science, Major in Biology Co-op from the University of Victoria in 1990; a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of SK, in 1995.

Dr. Jacobson is actively involved with Alley Cat Alliance a charitable organization for animals down on their luck. She opened Jacobson Veterinary Services, a mixed animal practice, in 1999. She shares her busy life with her husband, Allen, and her fur-children (cats: Peanut and Bonnie; horses: Red and Sprocket and chickens and goldfish). She enjoys skiing, riding, gardening, birding, travel and photography.
